In the Acıgöl district of Nevşehir, 27-year-old Sefer and Azime Doğantekin, who lost their lives due to carbon monoxide gas leaking from a stove, along with their 8-month-old baby Mustafa Efe, were laid to rest with tears. The imam brother Fatih Doğantekin fainted while leading the funeral prayer, and little Mustafa Efe's coffin was carried to the cemetery by his grandfather.
In Nevşehir, Sefer (27) and Azime (27) Doğantekin, who died from carbon monoxide poisoning leaking from the stove, along with their 8-month-old baby Mustafa Efe, were bid farewell on their final journey. Sefer Doğantekin's brother, imam Fatih Doğantekin, fainted while performing the funeral prayer. Mustafa Efe's funeral was carried by his grandfather in his arms.
The incident occurred yesterday morning in the village of Karacaören in the Acıgöl district. Relatives who could not reach Azime Doğantekin (27), her husband Sefer Doğantekin (27), and their 8-month-old baby Mustafa Efe went to the couple's home. Unable to open the door, the relatives reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, gendarmerie and health teams were dispatched to the address.
TEAMS FOUND THE LIFLESS BODIES
Upon entering the house, the teams found the mother, father, and their baby lying motionless on the floor. Health officials determined that Azime-Sefer Doğantekin and baby Mustafa Efe had died from carbon monoxide poisoning leaking from the stove. The bodies, taken to the morgue for the determination of the exact cause of death, were handed over to their families after autopsy procedures and brought to the village of Karacaören.
IMAM FAINTED WHILE PERFORMING THE PRAYER
Fatih Doğantekin, the imam and brother of Sefer Doğantekin, fainted while tearfully performing the funeral prayers for his brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. After the prayers were completed, the bodies were taken to the cemetery. The funeral of 8-month-old Mustafa Efe Doğantekin was carried to the cemetery by his grandfather Oğuz Sağlık in his arms. Azime, Sefer, and their baby Mustafa Efe were laid to rest with prayers.
