The imprisoned contractor of Galeria Site, which claimed the lives of 89 people, has passed away.

In the case related to the Galeria Building, which collapsed in Diyarbakır and resulted in the death of 89 people, contractor Sedat Eser, who was sentenced to 17 years and 6 months in prison, fell ill and was taken to the hospital while being held in Sincan Prison. Eser, who was receiving treatment at Ankara Etlik City Hospital and was transferred to the intensive care unit due to his deteriorating condition, passed away.

In the case related to the Galeria Building, which collapsed in the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, Eser, who was tried in Diyarbakır 11th Heavy Penal Court, was sentenced to 17 years and 6 months in prison for "causing the death and injury of multiple people through conscious negligence."
