Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek announced that the long-awaited indictment regarding the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) has been completed. The 3,900-page indictment, which will be submitted to the court today, includes 402 suspects and 143 actions. İmamoğlu is accused of being the leader of the organization in the indictment.

The investigation into the "corruption" case involving the suspended Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, has been completed. Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek stated that the indictment will be presented to the court today.



In his statement, Gürlek said, "We detailed the structure of the criminal organization in the indictment. The organizational chart is important. There are 6 organization leaders. Ekrem İmamoğlu is the leader of the organization. Our court needs to conduct a speedy trial. It needs to reach a conclusion as soon as possible," he expressed.



INDICTMENT IS A TOTAL OF 3,900 PAGES



The corruption investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has been completed. The 3,900-page indictment has been submitted to the court. A total of 402 individuals are named as suspects in the indictment.



İMAMOĞLU IS THE LEADER OF THE ORGANIZATION



Among the suspects facing public prosecution, 99 are members of the organization, 1 is the founder and leader of the organization, suspect Ekrem İmamoğlu, and 6 are organization leaders, suspects Fatih Keleş, Murat Ongun, Ertan Yıldız, Murat Gülibrahimoğlu, Adem Soytekin, and Hüseyin Gün. The remaining individuals are not members of the organization but are included as connected persons in the indictment.



The indictment states, "In the 10-year process, the public loss is 160 billion lira."



PENALTY SOUGHT FOR İMAMOĞLU



A prison sentence ranging from 828 years to 2,352 years has been requested for Ekrem İmamoğlu. The charges against İmamoğlu in the indictment are as follows:

The statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:



As part of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau against İmamoğlu's organized crime group; as of today, a total of (402) suspects, including (105) detained, (170) under judicial control, (7) wanted by arrest warrant, and (1) under judicial control (5) complainant suspects, have been charged with a total of (143) different actions related to "Establishing and managing a criminal organization, being a member of a criminal organization, knowingly and willingly aiding without being part of the hierarchical structure of the organization, receiving bribes, giving bribes, extortion, interfering with a tender, fraud to the detriment of public institutions, violating tax procedure law, laundering assets derived from crime, recording personal data, seizing and disseminating personal data, intentionally polluting the environment, violating forest law, publicly disseminating misleading information, causing damage to public property, violating mining law, and violating forest law" at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court.



Among the suspects facing public prosecution, (99) are members of the organization (1 is the founder and leader suspect Ekrem İmamoğlu, 6 are organization leaders suspects Fatih Keleş, Murat Ongun, Ertan Yıldız, Murat Gülibrahimoğlu, Adem Soytekin, and Hüseyin Gün, and 92 are organization members), while the remaining individuals are not members of the organization but are in a position of committing connected crimes.



The indictment requests punishment for a total of (142) actions related to the direct crimes committed by the founder and leader suspect Ekrem İmamoğlu, including establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime, bribery (12 times), laundering proceeds of crime (7 times), and fraud to the detriment of public institutions (7 times).



For the founder and leader of the criminal organization, under Article 220/5 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237, the following actions committed by organization members are also included: recording personal data (2 times), seizing and disseminating personal data (2 times), concealing evidence of a crime (4 times), obstructing communication, causing damage to public property, receiving bribes (47 times), publicly disseminating misleading information, extortion (9 times), fraud to the detriment of public institutions (39 times), laundering assets derived from crime (4 times), interfering with a tender (70 times), intentionally polluting the environment, violating tax procedure law, violating forest law, and violating mining law.



Investigations are ongoing for some of the suspects involved.
