The second edition of the 'One Child One Wish' project is being organized in cooperation with the Istanbul Children Foundation and philanthropists under the coordination of the Istanbul Governorship. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül provided information about the details of the project, which aims to fulfill the dreams of children from families with insufficient financial income and children who have lost a parent. Governor Gül stated, "There is a website for the 'One Child One Wish Project.' In the upcoming process, we have uploaded approximately 4,000 wishes to our pages. Non-governmental organizations and philanthropists will select the wishes they want to fulfill from there. We will complete the remaining ones with the resources of our state, and by October 29, on the 101st anniversary of our Republic, we will have fulfilled the wishes of all orphaned siblings in Istanbul," he said. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül provided information about the details of the project. The meeting held at the Istanbul Governorship was attended by representatives of political parties, non-governmental organizations, and district governors. "WE FULFILLED ONE OF THE THREE WISHES"Providing information about the project, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said, "As the Istanbul Governorship, we are implementing the 'One Child One Wish' project in cooperation with our Istanbul Children Foundation and philanthropists. With the project we started last year, we sent letters to orphaned children registered with social assistance foundations in our 39 districts. In this letter, we summarized that we cannot fill the void left by their fathers, but if they write down three wishes as an older brother, we would fulfill one of those three wishes. Additionally, all the wishes communicated to us by 4,973 of our children have been fulfilled with the resources of our philanthropic non-governmental organizations and district governors' social assistance and solidarity foundations. When you ask your own child what they want, our orphaned children, whose fathers are no longer alive, asked for similar things," he said. "SEND YOUR WISHES TO GAZA CHILDREN, NOT US"Governor Gül, stating that there were requests from 4,973 of our children last year, said, "This year, there are requests from 3,953 of our children. What does this depend on? It depends on how many children are registered with the social assistance foundation. We write letters to all of them without skipping any. Additionally, we also wrote letters to children who are martyrs' children but are not registered with the social assistance and solidarity foundation. We would like to share a few different wishes we received from approximately 4,000 children. One of the most touching was when a child said, 'Send the wishes you will give us or write to the children in Gaza.' The child's sensitivity and thoughtfulness in this regard, feeling this brotherhood, is very valuable. Another child has two siblings. One has a wish; the other wrote three wishes, all of which were for his sibling's wish to come true. It is very valuable for a child to prioritize their sibling's wish over their own," he expressed. "WE WILL COMPLETE THE REMAINING ONES WITH THE RESOURCES OF OUR STATE"Stating that they will fulfill the children's wishes by October 29, Governor Gül said, "There is a website for the 'One Child One Wish' project.
