The joy of the fuel discount was short-lived, a big price hike is coming.

The joy of a 5 lira and 35 kuruş discount on diesel, which came into effect at midnight, was short-lived due to developments in the market. Due to increasing geopolitical tensions in the Gulf and commercial disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a price increase of 6.23 lira for diesel is expected starting tomorrow.

The volatility in Brent crude oil prices and the fluctuations in the exchange rate continue to put pressure on fuel prices. Additionally, consecutive increases in special consumption tax (ÖTV) are supporting the upward trend in prices.

THE JOY OF DIESEL DISCOUNT WAS SHORT-LIVED

Starting today, there has been a decrease of 5.35 lira in the price of diesel per liter. However, following this discount, a new expectation of a 6.23 lira increase has emerged in the market. The anticipated increase is expected to reflect at the pump starting tomorrow.

HERE ARE THE PRICES WITH INCREASES

If the increase is implemented, the price of diesel per liter is expected to rise to 74.86 lira in Istanbul, 75.99 lira in Ankara, and 76.26 lira in Izmir. In the eastern provinces, prices are predicted to reach 77.71 lira.
