Serpil Örümcer stated that Nükhet Duru was in love with a boy at that time and tried to commit suicide by eating matches. Örümcer continued her words as follows: "She tried to commit suicide by eating matches. In the middle of the night, we took care of her, got yogurt, and fed her... Then we went and reconciled her with her mother. After she became famous, she turned cold, and we haven't met since. But it doesn't matter to me whether she greets me or not."
