In Mersin, the last photos taken at the hospital of 4-year-old Ömer Selim and his 7-year-old sister Azra Tülü, who died after four members of the same family fell ill, have emerged. The father and the mother, who is reportedly pregnant, are still undergoing treatment.
The devastating incident occurred in Tüllüler Street, Tekmen Neighborhood, Bozyazı district of Mersin. According to the information obtained, police officer Musa Tülü (39), serving in the Karaman Provincial Police Department, along with his wife Ebru (33), their children Azra (7) and Ömer Selim (4), had arrived in their hometown Bozyazı 3 days ago.
2 YOUNG SIBLINGS LOSE THEIR LIVES IN THE HOSPITAL
While Musa Tülü and his family were staying on the second floor of his mother's house, they fell ill during the night and were taken to Bozyazı State Hospital with complaints of vomiting and nausea. Among the family, first Ömer Selim and then Azra lost their lives despite all medical interventions. The mother and father were transferred to Mersin City Hospital by ambulance.
CAUSES OF DEATH NOT DETERMINED
While the mother, who is reported to be pregnant, and the father continue their treatment in intensive care, a preliminary autopsy was performed on the deceased siblings. The cause of the illness and death has not yet been determined, and the bodies were sent to the Mersin Forensic Medicine Institute.
Meanwhile, initial examinations at the house where the Tülü couple stayed were completed by gendarmerie teams. After the investigation, the entrance to the house was cordoned off. It was reported that the cause of the death of the 2 children and the hospitalization of the mother and father in intensive care is expected to be determined following the autopsy procedures.
