The report verification application, which was temporarily suspended during the pandemic period, has been resumed in line with the regulation of the Ministry of Health. Accordingly, in order for disabled Istanbulkart users to continue benefiting from the free transportation right without interruption, the disability report information in the Ministry of Health's systems needs to be updated.
During the pandemic period, disabled citizens continued to benefit from their free transportation rights without renewing their reports under the temporary facilitative regulation applied for the renewal of periodic health board reports. With the Ministry of Health ending this temporary practice, the report verification process through the National Disability Data Bank and the e-Report system has been restarted. For this reason, BELBİM, an affiliate of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has initiated a study to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the free transportation right for disabled Istanbulkart users.
As a result of the transactions, the free transportation right (visa process) of 233,128 out of 433,400 users was automatically extended without any action required. For the 200,272 users whose report information could not be verified in the Ministry of Health systems, BELBİM informed them via SMS and asked them to report their current report numbers.
INFORMATION MUST BE UPDATED BY JUNE 30 FOR UNINTERRUPTED FREE TRANSPORTATION
Users who need to submit current report information must convey their current report numbers to BELBİM by June 30, 2026, for the uninterrupted continuation of their free transportation right. After this date, the current report number can still be submitted, but since the free transportation right cannot be defined until the report information is verified, crossings made during this period will be charged. Therefore, it is important for users to complete the update process by the specified date to continuously benefit from the free transportation right.
Users whose report information has been verified in the Ministry of Health systems and who have been assigned the free transportation right will continue to benefit from the free transportation right without making any application. Hence, users who did not receive an SMS do not need to take any action.
To make an update, an SMS must be sent to 6235 by typing ISTRPR, then a space, then the T.C. ID Number, then a space, and then the report number.
