It was learned that journalist Fatih Altaylı was taken for brain surgery in the morning hours, and his wife made a statement regarding his latest health status. The journalist's wife, Hande Altaylı, reported that he underwent a planned 2.5-hour surgery due to the benign tumors in his brain growing and causing pressure during his prison term, and that the operation was successful.

Journalist Fatih Altaylı underwent a planned operation this morning due to the growth of benign tumors in his brain and the pressure they began to exert. It was noted that growth was detected in the mass during his prison process, with the tumor reaching up to 2.5 centimeters and starting to exert pressure on the brain.

HIS WIFE ANNOUNCED THE LATEST HEALTH STATUS

Fatih Altaylı's wife, Hande Altaylı, announced that the operation was completed around 12:00 PM. Hande Altaylı reported that the journalist's health condition is good after the treatment that lasted approximately 2.5 hours.

"THE OPERATION WAS COMPLETED WITHOUT ISSUES"

After the surgery, a post on Altaylı's social media account included statements from Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç. The statement indicated that the approximately 25-millimeter meningioma, which was previously known to exist in Fatih Altaylı, was being monitored, and treatment planning was made today due to some growth of the tumor in recent years.

Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that in the detailed MRI images taken this morning before the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Treatment, in addition to the known 25-millimeter meningioma, a new meningioma approximately 15 millimeters in size was also detected. Kılıç noted that the treatment for both tumors was performed in the same session, and the procedure was completed without any issues and no problems were encountered.

INTERVENTION FOR BOTH TUMORS IN THE SAME SESSION

In the statement made after the treatment, it was noted that both benign tumors are expected to shrink and become inactive over the next year. The statement also conveyed wishes for a speedy recovery to Fatih Altaylı.
