The process of determining the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025 has reached its final stage. The fourth and last meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission will be held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan. After the meeting, Minister Işıkhan is expected to make a statement and announce the new minimum wage.

The process for determining the new minimum wage, which directly affects 7 million employees and indirectly concerns all citizens, has reached its final stages. The fourth meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which is working to establish the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025, will take place this evening.

SURPRISE MEETING FROM THE COMMISSION

The commission, which held its first meeting on December 10, its second meeting on December 16, and its third meeting on December 19, will hold its fourth meeting today at 20:30 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, hosted by the Ministry. It has been reported that Minister Işıkhan will make a statement following the minimum wage meeting.

TÜRK-İŞ'S REQUEST IS 29,583 TL

In the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which consists of 15 members, workers are represented by TÜRK-İŞ, and employers are represented by the Turkish Employers' Confederation (TİSK). The commission includes 5 members each from the ministry, TÜRK-İŞ, and TİSK. In a statement made by TÜRK-İŞ, it was requested that the minimum wage be set at 29,583 lira, with a 45% inflation increase and a 20% share of prosperity. Following this request, all eyes are turned to this week.

MINISTER IŞIKHAN HAD INDICATED THIS WEEK

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made a statement yesterday regarding the eagerly awaited fourth meeting on the minimum wage, saying, "We will definitely announce the minimum wage this week. The minimum wage determination commission will meet on Thursday or Friday, and the minimum wage for 2025 will be determined."
