30-year-old lawyer Kannan was attacked by his assistant Anandan as he was leaving the court after attending a case.
Anandan stopped Kannan outside the courthouse and attacked him with a sickle. Even after Kannan fell to the ground and lost consciousness, the assailant continued to strike Kannan's head repeatedly with the sickle.
According to reports, Kannan was alleged to have had an illicit relationship with Anandan's wife. Police sources indicated that there was animosity between the two due to this issue. Kannan, who suffered severe injuries to his neck and shoulder, died while receiving treatment in the hospital.
Lawyers held a protest at the Hosur Courthouse to condemn this brutal murder. The protest ended after a meeting between the Hosur court judge and the district police chief. During this time, Anandan, the perpetrator of the murder, surrendered.
