Lieutenants Ebru Eroğlu and İzzet Talip Akarsu, who were dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), filed a lawsuit at the Ankara Administrative Court to annul the decision of the High Disciplinary Board of the Land Forces Command. Along with Serhat Dündar, Batuhan Gazi Kılıç, and Deniz Demirtaş, who had previously filed a lawsuit, the five dismissed lieutenants have initiated legal proceedings to return to the TSK.
Lieutenants Ebru Eroğlu and İzzet Talip Akarsu, who were expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) for reading the Officer's Oath during the graduation ceremony of the Military Academy on August 30, 2024, applied to the Ankara Administrative Court to regain their rights.
5 LIEUTENANTS INITIATED LEGAL PROCESS
Thus, along with Serhat Dündar, Batuhan Gazi Kılıç, and Deniz Demirtaş, who had previously filed a lawsuit, the five expelled lieutenants also initiated a legal process to return to the TSK.
CANCELLATION OF THE EXPULSION DECISION REQUESTED
According to a report by Tele1, Ebru Eroğlu and İzzet Talip Akarsu requested the suspension of the execution of the expulsion decision issued by the High Disciplinary Board of the Land Forces Command in the petition they submitted to the Ankara Administrative Court. In the lawsuit petition, it was emphasized that the actions of the lieutenants did not constitute a disciplinary offense, and the cancellation of the expulsion decision was requested.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After the official graduation ceremony at the Military Academy on August 30, 2024, a disciplinary investigation was initiated following the lieutenants' reading of the Officer's Oath while crossing swords and chanting the slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal."
As part of the investigation, five lieutenants, including Ebru Eroğlu, the top graduate of the Military Academy, were referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for "separation from the Turkish Armed Forces." At the same time, an investigation was also initiated against the battalion, regiment, and company commanders who were on duty during the graduation ceremony. As a result of the disciplinary investigation, expulsion decisions were made against five lieutenants and three disciplinary officers from the TSK.
