In Sivas, a lighter gas cylinder that exploded inside a parked vehicle caused the death of 17-year-old Emre Üzen. While his twin brother Efe continues to receive treatment, Emre's funeral was held and he was laid to rest amid prayers.
The explosion that occurred in a parked car inside the Salıpazarı on Şeyhşamil Street in the Diriliş Neighborhood of Sivas led to a tragedy. Emre Üzen (17), his twin Efe Üzen (17), and M.T.Y. (16), who were inside the Opel vehicle with the license plate 58 AFZ 458, were injured.
THE LIGHTER GAS CYLINDER EXPLODED LIKE A BOMB
Health teams dispatched to the scene provided first aid to the injured in the ambulance. Despite all efforts, Emre Üzen's heart could not be restarted after it stopped, and the young man passed away at Sivas Numune Hospital. It was learned that Efe Üzen's treatment continued at the same hospital. The explosion was determined to have originated from a lighter gas cylinder inside the vehicle.
BURIED IN TEARS
A funeral prayer was held today at Ayyıldız Mosque for Emre Üzen, who lost his life. Sivas Mayor Adem Uzun, the young man's family, friends, and relatives attended the funeral. It was observed that father İsmail Üzen had difficulty standing, while Emre's coffin was carried on the shoulders of his friends to be buried in the Yukarı Tekke Sıralı Cemetery adjacent to the mosque.
