After his arrest, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul, was released under judicial control with a 'travel ban' condition by the court, along with Sinan Udil, the manager of the Le Meridien hotel where he entered and whose camera was turned off, and Osman Gündüz Bora Oğurlu, the security manager.
After the arrest by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a corruption investigation continues against suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) on charges of "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "bribery," "extortion," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "manipulating a tender."
CAMERAS WERE COVERED WITH TAPE WHEN IMAMOGLU ARRIVED
According to the investigation file conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, İmamoğlu met with suspects Tuncay Yılmaz, Ertan Yıldız, Adem Soytekin, Fatih Keleş, and Hüseyin Köksal, who are described as the organization leaders and cashiers, at the Le Meridien hotel owned by Adnan Çebi. Moments were recorded where the security cameras observing the interior areas of the hotel were covered with black tape by Çağlar Türkmen, the security personnel of the IBB Private Office, before the meeting.
ARREST WARRANT FOR HOTEL MANAGERS
Following the footage, an arrest warrant was issued for Sinan Udil, the Manager of Le Meridien Hotel, and Osman Gündüz Bora Oğurlu, the Security Manager, who were involved in İmamoğlu's meetings. In a statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that the suspects were charged with "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence of a crime."
"THEY WERE RELEASED"
After their procedures at the police station, the two hotel managers were referred to the courthouse and were brought before the magistrate after the prosecutor's questioning. The magistrate released Udil and Oğurlu under judicial control to be tried without detention.
