CHP'S HOLISTIC SOLUTION SEARCH

The commission is expected to address Turkey's terrorism problem comprehensively, both politically and sociologically. It is planned to be structured in a way that will not only discuss security-focused approaches but also solutions in the context of democratization, social peace, rights, and freedoms. In previous statements, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel emphasized that they are against all forms of terrorism and stated that the permanent solution to this problem should be sought not only on a military basis but also on a political and social ground.

TWO NAMES ESPECIALLY STAND OUT

Among the names that will be in the commission, Sezgin Tanrıkulu stands out as someone who has been working for many years on human rights and the Kurdish issue, while it is known that Türkan Elçi has a strong representation, especially in civil society circles in Diyarbakır. Elçi's participation has been interpreted as a sign that the commission is not only a parliamentary structure but also takes social representation into account.

WHAT WILL THE COMMISSION DO?

The commission is expected to start its work in the coming weeks and conduct field studies, reports, academic contributions, and contacts with different segments of society in various regions. The ultimate goal is to create a "Terror-Free Turkey Roadmap" to be shared with the public.
