The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the death penalty regulation, which was accepted in the Israeli Parliament and is intended to be applied only to Palestinians, has been condemned.

A written statement was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the death penalty accepted in the Israeli Parliament (Knesset).

“ILLEGAL AND INVALID”

The statement said, "We condemn the death penalty regulation accepted in the Israeli Parliament, which is intended to be applied only to Palestinians. This regulation, aimed at further intensifying the apartheid regime of the occupying power Israel against Palestinians, is a new manifestation of the policies of denial, destruction, and political execution pursued against the Palestinian people, and it is illegal and invalid."

A call was made to the international community, especially the United Nations, to take action against the "racist and unlawful" steps of the occupying power Israel.

The Israeli Parliament had accepted the controversial bill proposing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners with a vote of 62 in favor and 48 against in the Knesset General Assembly.
