The Ministry of National Education has instructed that New Year and Christmas celebrations should not be held in schools. The ministry stated that these activities are contrary to Turkey's national and cultural values.

The Ministry of National Education sent a letter to schools requesting that activities such as celebrations held under the name of "New Year" and Christmas, which are contrary to cultural values, and any digital, written, or visual content sharing related to these activities, should not be conducted in schools.

NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS ARE PROHIBITED IN SCHOOLS

In the letter sent to schools through provincial and district national education directorates by the Ministry of National Education, it was stated that activities should be conducted in accordance with Turkey's customs, traditions, and national values.

In the letter sent to schools in the district on December 16, signed by Ataşehir District National Education Director İsmail Yıldırım, it was stated, "Activities such as any kind of lottery, celebration, and all kinds of digital, written, and visual content sharing held under the name of New Year, Christmas, Halloween, etc., which are not included in specific days and weeks, and are contrary to national and cultural values, should not be conducted in our schools and institutions under our Directorate; I kindly request your compliance."
