The Ministry of Trade shared details of a major drug operation under the title "Historic Seizure by Customs Enforcement Teams." In operations conducted at four different locations over four days, a total of 2 tons and 116 kilograms of drugs worth 5 billion 250 million lira were seized.

In the operations; 279 kilograms of marijuana were seized at Ambarlı Port, a certain amount of marijuana at Kapıkule Customs Gate, 691 kilograms of methamphetamine at Dilucu Customs Gate, and 764 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine at Gürbulak Customs Gate, totaling approximately 5 billion 250 million TL worth of 2 tons 116 kilograms of drugs within a week.

REVEALED IN X-RAY SCAN

As part of the fight against illegal drug trafficking, a truck arriving at the Ağrı Gürbulak Customs Gate was assessed as risky and sent for X-ray scanning. After analyzing the image obtained from the Vehicle and Container Scanning System, Customs Enforcement personnel detected a suspicious image in the fuel tank of the vehicle. The test result from the handheld drug detection device indicated that the sample was methamphetamine.

764 KILOS OF DRUGS SEIZED IN GÜRBULAK

As a result of the operation carried out by the personnel of the Ağrı Gürbulak Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate, 764 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine were seized. The market value of the drug was determined to be 2 billion 768 million TL. An investigation regarding the incident is ongoing under the supervision of the Doğubayazıt Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
