Camera footage has emerged showing the moments Elif Kumal left her home after reportedly leaving the area with her vehicle following an argument with her boyfriend Enis G. while camping in Balıkesir. While there has been no trace of Kumal, District Governor Hasan Göç stated, "We couldn't reach the girl, but how can we not reach the vehicle? This is not very explainable."
In the Erdek district of Balıkesir, Elif Kumal (34) went camping with her boyfriend Enis G. (37) and a friend on December 27, at the shore of the Yukarıyapıcı Pond in the Kapıdağ Peninsula. On December 28 at 12:09, Enis G. called the 112 Emergency Call Center, stating that a dispute had arisen between him and his girlfriend Elif Kumal, and after the argument, Kumal left the campsite in her vehicle during the night and he had not heard from her since. Following the report, teams were dispatched to the area.
NOT A SINGLE TRACE OF ELIF Teams examining security cameras could not find any footage showing that Kumal's vehicle headed towards Erdek or Bandırma. Gendarmerie teams initiated a large-scale search operation. AFAD teams from Çanakkale, İzmir, Manisa, Afyonkarahisar, and Bursa, as well as gendarmerie commando teams, and search and rescue teams affiliated with non-governmental organizations from Bursa and surrounding provinces were also dispatched to the area as reinforcements.
The gendarmerie's tracking dogs are also supporting the efforts. Elif Kumal's boyfriend Enis G. and their friend named Yavuz, who were with them, were released under judicial control after the detention period expired, as there was no evidence related to the young woman's disappearance.
Enis G. "NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE EXPLAINED" Yesterday, Balıkesir Deputy Governor Mustafa İlhan, Erdek District Governor Hasan Göç, and Gendarmerie Regiment Commander Colonel Murat Özer visited the Kapıdağ Peninsula for inspections. District Governor Hasan Göç stated that a team of 450 people participated in the operations and that the area was continuously scanned with 16 drones, adding that search operations had been restarted in previously searched areas, saying, "We couldn't reach our girl, how can we not reach the vehicle? This is not something that can be explained. There is no exit from our district."
SEARCH OPERATIONS CONTINUE In a statement from the Balıkesir Governorship regarding the matter, it was noted that search operations for Kumal were ongoing on the 8th day with 438 personnel, 100 vehicles, and 9 drones on land, in the air, and in the lake. A Bayraktar TB-2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and a helicopter are also on standby to inspect suspected locations. ATV and motocross riders are also participating in the operations. While no trace of Elif Kumal or her vehicle has been found yet, it has been learned that teams are also examining the security cameras of houses near the area.
LAST IMAGES EMERGED Elif Kumal was captured on camera leaving her home and heading to Kapıdağ.
