The complainant police officer R.Ş. stated in his testimony, "On the day of the incident, I saw the defendant a few times while I was on duty; he was using drugs. He had strange behaviors, but since he did not pose a threat to anyone, I did not take any action. While I was looking at my phone regarding my duty, the defendant suddenly came up behind me and stabbed me in the neck," he said.

A REPORT WILL BE OBTAINED FROM THE FORENSIC MEDICINE
After the defense and testimonies were taken, the court announced its interim decision, ruling that the detention of the defendant Oytun Ilgar would continue. The panel also ordered a report to be obtained from the Forensic Medicine Institution to determine whether the defendant has any condition that reduces or eliminates his criminal capacity, and adjourned the hearing.
FROM THE INDICTMENT
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that on the day of the incident, police officer R.Ş. was on duty at the tunnel entrance of Istiklal Street, during which the suspect Oytun Ilgar approached from behind and struck the complainant, who was wearing a police vest, on the neck with a prohibited knife and fled. The indictment requested that the suspect Oytun Ilgar be sentenced to a total of 13 years and 6 months to 21 years in prison for the crimes of 'attempted murder with intent due to the public duty performed by the person' and 'possession of an unlicensed knife.'
