The mother of the Sur killer accused İkbal Uzuner's family: They didn't leave my son alone.

The echoes of the brutal murder of 19-year-old Semih Çelik by Ayşenur Halil and İkbal Uzuner in Fatih, Istanbul, continue. Hafize Çelik, the mother of Semih Çelik, made striking statements to A Haber regarding the incident that horrified all of Turkey.

"IKBAL NEVER LEFT HIM ALONE"

Mother Hafize Çelik responded to the question, "Could you have imagined he would do such a thing?" by saying, "No, he had committed suicide, but I would never have thought he would do something like this. My child is not that kind of child. He was sick; I took him from doctor to doctor. I did everything I could, but İkbal never left him alone, she kept calling him constantly."

"I TOLD THE FAMILY TO 'DISAPPEAR'

Explaining how she warned İkbal Uzuner's family, mother Çelik said, "She sent him that video in 2021 where she said, 'I will gouge your eyes out,' and how is she still keeping that girl in Istanbul? If such a video came to your child, what would you do? They only changed the school transfer. As a mother, I warned İkbal's mother and father a lot. I told them to 'disappear.' I said, 'I don't trust my child; my child is not normal.' They said they had just moved into a new house and didn't know how to do it. I told them, 'What is more important, your child or your house?'

"SEMIH ALSO STABBED HIMSELF IN THE HEART"

The mother also stated that her son and İkbal Uzuner had previously planned to end their lives together, saying, "Semih had attempted suicide three years ago. They were going to commit suicide together, but then İkbal backed out. Semih also stabbed himself in the heart. My son stayed in Çapa for 15 days. İkbal also attempted suicide last year.
