The teams of the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch of the Istanbul Police Department identified 35 suspects, including Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney, who were involved in various fraudulent activities within Media AŞ, Kültür AŞ, and the İBB, in connection with the suspect Murat Ongun and the fugitive suspect Emrah Bağdatlı. The police teams identified 9 suspects operating under Ongun's control, who were found to have connections with Bağdatlı, as part of the social media structure of the profit-oriented criminal organization. An arrest warrant was issued for 44 suspects whose identities were determined.
42 PEOPLE ARRESTED, 2 PEOPLE WANTED
Following the decision, the teams of the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch arrested 40 suspects, including Beyoğlu Mayor Güney, in a simultaneous operation. In the continuation of the operations, 2 more suspects were arrested. The number of arrests has risen to 42, while efforts to capture the 2 fugitives are ongoing.

On the other hand, Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney shared a photo taken with his family before being taken into custody, stating, "While the police friends were waiting for me at the door, before being taken into custody, we took a photo together with my wife Ayşen, my daughters, and our dear friend. On March 31, 2024, we overcame 30 years of arrogance with our dignity. Being elected as the mayor of the Beyoğlu Municipality, where my father worked, has been the greatest pride bestowed upon me in my life. We started serving by saying that the rights of Beyoğlu are entrusted to us. We worked hard to be worthy of our neighbors. We made the Beyoğlu Municipality the municipality with the highest satisfaction among districts in all reputable surveys. My dear neighbors, my life has passed in Beyoğlu, you all know me. You know that the reason for my being in custody is ugly slanders. We have not had, nor will we have, a single job that we cannot account for. Beyoğlu is conscientious, honorable, and just. İnan Güney is entrusted to Beyoğlu." he stated.
