According to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) data, as of the end of January, the sector's net profit for the period amounted to 47 billion 347 million Turkish lira.

According to the "Non-Consolidated Main Indicators of the Turkish Banking Sector" report by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) for the period of January 2025, the sector's total assets increased by 708 billion 937 million lira compared to the end of 2024, reaching 33 trillion 366 billion 171 million lira.

The largest asset item in the sector, loans, amounted to 16 trillion 374 billion 343 million lira as of January, while the total of marketable securities reached 5 trillion 337 billion 296 million lira. During this period, the ratio of loans turning into non-performing loans was recorded at 1.87 percent.

THE LARGEST FUND SOURCE IS DEPOSITS

Deposits, which are the largest source of funds within banks, increased by 0.8 percent compared to the end of 2024, reaching 19 trillion 46 billion 753 million lira. During the same period, the total equity increased by 3.5 percent to 2 trillion 998 billion 96 million lira. As of the end of January, the sector's net profit for the period was 47 billion 347 million lira, and the capital adequacy standard ratio was recorded at 17.62 percent.
