Founded in 1992, the Of Hayrat Foundation has elected its 5th president. As a result of the election with a single candidate, Erdoğan Bayraktar has been appointed as the president. In his speech, Bayraktar outlined the foundation's priorities, stating that they would focus on education and social assistance. He also requested support from the members for the foundation to reach a wider audience through social and cultural projects.
Founded in 1992, the Of Hayrat Foundation elected its 5th president at a meeting held at its General Headquarters. As a result of the single-candidate election, Erdoğan Bayraktar became the new chairman of the foundation.
After the election, Erdoğan Bayraktar addressed the members, delivering messages of unity and solidarity.
"We Came to This Position by Coincidence"
Bayraktar stated, "This election took place harmoniously. No one aspired to the presidency; all our friends showed their preference. With the preference of these brothers, we were practically given a duty. We were pushed into a sea, and now we must swim," he said.
Emphasis on Education and Social Solidarity
In his speech, Bayraktar listed the priorities of the foundation, emphasizing the importance of education. "What can we do for the people living in Of and Hayrat, in Istanbul and across Turkey? We will work for children, youth, the elderly, and those in need," said Bayraktar, noting that the foundation will place greater emphasis on its social responsibility projects.
Examples from Singapore and South Korea
Bayraktar illustrated the role of hard work and the importance of education in the development of countries using the examples of Singapore and South Korea. Comparing the population and area of Of and Hayrat with the data from Singapore, Bayraktar remarked, "In Singapore, the income per capita is 84,732 dollars. It is possible for us to reach these levels through hard work. Our foundation has placed great importance on education until now, and it will continue to do so," he said.
"We Will Increase Our Resources"
Bayraktar emphasized the importance of increasing the foundation's financial resources, stating, "Currently, the foundation has a budget of 6 million lira. God willing, we will raise this figure to 100 million, even 150 million lira. We must have more resources to reach wider audiences," he said.
"We Will Work with Sincerity and Effort"
Bayraktar highlighted that he would serve the foundation's members sincerely, saying, "I will be as fair as I can. We can achieve success not with words, but through hard work and effort. Gratitude also comes through working," he stated.
At the end of his speech, Bayraktar requested support from the members to increase the foundation's activities and reach more people. In the new term, the foundation aims to reach wider audiences with social and cultural projects.
