A 24-year-old sergeant named Hakan Fidan, who was serving in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, drowned after being swept away by the current while trying to cool off in a stream in Samsun. Fidan's funeral was held in Ordu, where he was laid to rest.
Sergeant Hakan Fidan (24), who drowned after being swept away by the current in a stream in the Terme district of Samsun, was buried in Ordu.
Hakan Fidan, who served as a sergeant in the Gebze district of Kocaeli and came to Samsun on annual leave, entered the Akçay Stream to cool off.
SWEEPED AWAY BY THE CURRENT, LOST HIS LIFE
Fidan was swept away by the current after a while. Those around him, noticing the situation, reported it to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. Divers from the Ünye Fire Department of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality reached Fidan's lifeless body as a result of the operation.
FAREWELL TO HIS LAST JOURNEY
Fidan's lifeless body was taken to Ünye State Hospital. A funeral prayer was held today for Fidan in the Fatih Neighborhood of Ünye district in Ordu. The prayer was attended by Ordu Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Hilmi Güler, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Sadi Akman, Ünye District Governor Ayhan Işık, Ünye District Garrison Commander Lieutenant Oğuzhan Sarıkaya, Ünye District Gendarmerie Commander Lieutenant Muharrem Aytekin, and Fidan's family and relatives. After the prayer, Fidan's body was buried in the cemetery in Fatih Neighborhood.
