The statement of Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who was arrested in the investigation related to the attack in which football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı lost his life in Ümraniye, Istanbul, has emerged. Kadayıfçıoğlu stated that his monthly income is 600,000 TL and claimed that the gun was not fired intentionally.
“I WAS IN SHOCK WHEN THE GUN FIRED”
In his statement, the suspect argued that the incident did not occur consciously. Kadayıfçıoğlu said, “I definitely did not fire intentionally. I was in shock when the gun fired.”
CLAIM THAT THE GUN FIRED DURING A SCUFFLE
Kadayıfçıoğlu stated that on the day of the incident, the first person to notice the individuals in the vehicle was Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, who was with him, and he mentioned that these individuals might be connected to Aleyna's ex-boyfriend. Following this, the suspect expressed that he wanted to get out of the vehicle to talk, approached the parked car, and tapped on the window.
Kadayıfçıoğlu claimed that the person inside forcefully opened the door and pushed him, and during the scuffle, he saw the other party take a metal object from the glove compartment, thinking it could be a gun or a knife. The suspect stated that he had a Glock brand pistol with a carry permit in his left hand, and when he was attacked, he reflexively raised his hand, claiming that the gun suddenly fired during the struggle.
“I DID NOT KNOW HIM, THERE WAS NO GRUDGE”
Kadayıfçıoğlu expressed that he did not know the deceased Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı before and that there was no grudge between them. He stated that he had only heard the name Vahap Canbay on social media.

RAN AWAY AFTER THE INCIDENT
The suspect, who stated that he met Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu about 2-3 months ago, said that they were together the night before the incident and that he gave his car to Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu in the morning. He mentioned that they went to the studio together in the evening to collect her belongings. Kadayıfçıoğlu expressed that he left the area in a Vito brand vehicle after the incident, trying to reach his father due to the shock he experienced, but could not reach him because his father was abroad, and later went to a relative's house.
THE GUN BELONGS TO HIM
Kadayıfçıoğlu admitted that the Glock brand gun used in the incident belongs to him and has a carry permit. However, he claimed that the second gun and the bullets seized at another address do not belong to him.
The suspect's lawyer argued that his client acted to calm the parties, that the gun fired during the scuffle, and that there was no intent in the incident.
