The parent continued, saying "I have a cousin in the Presidency!" Other parents are seeking justice for the teacher!

Parents at Canan Özbağı Primary School in Çankaya district of Ankara held a press conference, claiming that their teachers were unfairly transferred. The parents of 2nd grade students stated that the teacher was unjustly removed from her class and school, alleging that she was expelled by a parent who was said to have connections at the Çankaya District National Education Directorate.

OPENLY THREATENED AND INSULTED

The parents of Ankara Çankaya Canan Özbağı Primary School 2/D class students made a statement regarding the issue. Speaking on behalf of other parents, one person said: "We are the parents of 2/D class students. Our former class teacher (appointed) Funda Şimşek is a respected teacher in our school, earning the admiration of everyone. However, two parents in our class have engaged in disrespectful behavior towards the teacher, such as pressuring her, mobbing, blocking her way, and insulting her. These two parents tried to organize other parents, but did not receive a positive response. As a result, they threatened to remove the teacher, and if necessary, the deputy director and the director of the Çankaya District National Education Directorate, claiming to have connections there."

"A VIOLATION OF EDUCATION REGULATIONS"

Speaking to the media in Ankara, the parents said, "During this process, I and other like-minded parents submitted petitions to the School Directorate, the District National Education Directorate, and the Provincial National Education Directorate, requesting that our teacher Funda Şimşek continue her assignment, and our request was approved and our teacher was assigned to our school. However, on the first day of school, our teacher was assigned to another school. This assignment was done hastily and unlawfully. In fact, the announcement of the previous assignment on the Çankaya district national education directorate's website has been removed. This action is unlawful. This practice is in violation of national education regulations, as it is not in accordance with the law, regulations, or conscience to change a teacher's place of assignment without their knowledge with a single click. Furthermore, this punishment was imposed without any investigation or inquiry. As parents, based on the responses we received from every institution we visited, we concluded that all of these actions were done through someone's influence, and we were proven right with an incident. One of the parents who complained about the teacher stated that they had the teacher removed through their cousin working at the Presidency, and that they would even have the school principal removed and close the school if necessary, and advised us not to seek justice, admitting that no matter what we do, the teacher will not be assigned to this class. They even threatened to harm some of the parents through the same acquaintance, claiming that they would end the teacher's career with the power behind them. We initially thought of these statements as just a simple acquaintance, but this confession and the outcome reached are evidence that a cousin can solve everything."

"WE WANT TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD BY OUR PRESIDENT AND ALL AUTHORITIES"

The parents concluded their words as follows: "As a result of all these reasons and incidents, we applied to all relevant institutions regarding the rights of our children and our teacher, but we did not receive any results. Now we wonder, is this cousin real? Why was this teacher removed from this school? Why was a teacher with a lower score assigned to the class? Why was a teacher punished without any trial? Why do the institutions we wrote to not respond to us? Is it our fault that we do not have a cousin working at the Presidential Complex? In conclusion, the caprice of two parents is preventing the upbringing of conscientious generations. In fact, as those parents put it, by involving someone from above, the rights of other children are violated, and the rights of a teacher who performs her profession properly, to which they are sincerely attached, are being violated. We want to make our voices heard by our President and all state authorities. We expect help and results from them with a sense of justice."
