The Ministry of Trade has increased the penalties for irregularities based on the Customs Law and overtime fees by 43.93%. According to the new regulation, the penalty for irregularities is set at 1,991 lira, the overtime fee for exports is 110 lira, and for other transactions, it is 259 lira. The announcement will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
The amounts related to the irregularity fines imposed on those who act contrary to the Customs Law and the regulations based on it, as well as the overtime fees, have been increased by the revaluation rate determined as 43.93%. The General Communiqué on Customs prepared by the Ministry of Trade has been published in the Official Gazette.
IRREGULARITY FINES WILL BE 1991 LIRA
With the communiqué, some amounts specified in the Customs Law and the relevant regulation have been updated at the revaluation rate determined as 43.93%. Accordingly, the irregularity fines specified in the law and the Customs Regulation will be 1991 lira. The overtime fee for exports at customs has been set at 110 lira, for other transactions at 259 lira, for exports per vehicle for trucks with Turkish plates at 259 lira, and for other transactions at 407 lira. The monetary limits for the refund or cancellation of customs duties by customs and foreign trade regional directorates and the Ministry have also been increased. The communiqué will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
