The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that free internet service will be provided at TCDD train stations and depots.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they have taken an important step in line with the vision of digitalization within the Turkish State Railways (TCDD).

FREE AND UNLIMITED INTERNET SERVICE PERIOD

Uraloğlu, who stated that they will launch a period of free and unlimited internet service at train stations and terminals as part of the "TCDD Wi-Fi Project" aimed at facilitating citizens' daily lives and modernizing railway services, pointed out that the project will be piloted at Ankara and Eryaman High-Speed Train (YHT) stations in the first phase.

WILL BE WIDELY AVAILABLE AT ALL STATIONS

Uraloğlu emphasized that citizens will gain secure and fast internet access thanks to this infrastructure, stating, "After the pilot application results, we aim to expand this service to all our train stations."

"WAITING TIMES WILL BECOME MORE COMFORTABLE"

Uraloğlu highlighted that they aim to provide internet service sequentially at the Konya, Karaman, Eskişehir, Bilecik, İzmit, Gebze, Pendik, Bostancı, Söğütlüçeşme, Halkalı, Kırıkkale, Yozgat, and Sivas stations, and included the following statements in his announcement: "Our passengers and visitors will be able to easily carry out their transactions with fast and secure internet connectivity. This application, which will provide great convenience especially for business, education, and travel planning, aims to make waiting times at our stations more comfortable, allowing our passengers to spend their time efficiently in these areas. We are keeping pace with the digitalizing world and aim to provide the best service for our citizens through our modernization efforts in the transportation sector."

EMPHASIS ON THE BEST SERVICE

Uraloğlu stated that the project will make a significant contribution to Turkey's digitalization and human-centered transportation strategy, strengthening citizens' digital rights by increasing access to information, and noted: "What is important for us is to ensure that our citizens have access to the best service in every field. The TCDD Wi-Fi Project is a strategic step taken in line with these goals. We will continue our efforts to expand our project rapidly."
