The person who attacked Sinan Ateş's sister has been arrested.

The former president of the Ülkü Ocakları Education and Culture Foundation and Hacettepe University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş was attacked during a break in the trial regarding his murder, when his sister Selma Ateş Kazanç and those with her were assaulted. The suspect was arrested by the court to which he was brought.

In a statement made by the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that during the break in the trial, an incident of injury occurred against Sinan Ateş's sister Selma Ateş Kazanç and those with her, S.A.Y., M.K., and B.G., in the cafeteria located opposite the main entrance of the institution. It was reported that the suspect M.C.K., who was detained upon the prosecutor's instructions, was arrested by the Ankara West Duty Magistrate's Court for the crime of "simple injury against a woman" after his statement procedures.
