The person who injured his spouse and killed his friend in Izmir committed suicide.

A person in the Ödemiş district of İzmir stabbed his estranged wife and her friend in front of a beauty center and then committed suicide. In the incident, the friend and the murder suspect husband lost their lives, while the woman stabbed by her husband was severely injured.

The incident took place in the evening hours in front of a beauty center near Ulus Square in Atatürk Neighborhood, connected to the district. According to the information obtained, Esin Karabıyık, who has been separated from her husband Özkan Karabıyık for a while and has a protection order, went to the beauty center with her friend Ebru Duvar. After spending some time there, Esin Karabıyık went outside and started arguing with her husband. As the argument escalated and her friend also got involved in the argument, Özkan Karabıyık stabbed his wife and her friend multiple times with the knife he brought with him. While both women collapsed on the ground covered in blood, the attacker husband then injured himself with the same knife.

Upon the notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that Ebru Duvar, a mother of two, and Özkan Karabıyık lost their lives after the examination conducted by the health teams. Esin Karabıyık, who was severely injured, was taken to Ödemiş State Hospital by ambulance.

CONDITION IS CRITICAL

While the police teams were conducting their work at the scene, it was learned that Esin Karabıyık, who was taken to the hospital for treatment, was in critical condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
