On February 6, the pilots of the Airbus A320 Neo flight MS738 belonging to Egyptair, which took off from Istanbul to Cairo, reported an emergency to the Traffic Control Center after smoke was seen in the cockpit.

Following the request for an emergency landing, the air rescue and firefighting (ARFF) teams affiliated with Istanbul Airport Operator IGA were put on standby.

After permission was granted, the aircraft landed smoothly on runway 17L with the assistance of IGA ARFF teams. No issues were detected during the inspection of the aircraft. The plane took off again after a 3-hour delay, completing its flight to Cairo.
