Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that a total of 720 personnel, including 636 police officers and 84 gendarmerie, will travel as passengers on buses in civilian clothing and will monitor the bus drivers to ensure compliance with traffic rules.

STRICT MONITORING OF BUS DRIVERS
Minister Yerlikaya stated that the assigned personnel will check whether bus drivers comply with traffic rules during the journey. In this context, issues such as adherence to speed limits, seat belt usage, and compliance with general traffic rules will be monitored.

Emphasizing that the main purpose of the inspections is to ensure that citizens reach their families safely, Yerlikaya made the following call: "Please do not speed. Let’s not neglect to wear seat belts in our vehicles and on buses. Remember, travels are meant to reunite you with your loved ones, not to separate you."

744 PEOPLE HAVE DIED IN THE LAST 2 YEARS
On the other hand, Minister Yerlikaya noted that 744 people lost their lives in traffic accidents during the Ramadan and Eid al-Adha holidays in the last two years, listing the violations that caused the most fatalities as follows;
- Speeding violation, unfortunately, 375 deaths
- Lane violation, unfortunately, 177 deaths
- Violation before passing, unfortunately, 63 deaths
- Rear-end collision, unfortunately, 55 deaths
- Violation of turning rules, unfortunately, 22 deaths
- Red light violation, unfortunately, 19 deaths, and
- Other violations account for unfortunately 94 deaths. Some accidents occur due to the violation of multiple causes.
