Turkey's bleeding wound of femicide has claimed another victim. In Kastamonu, a young woman lost her life due to gunfire from her husband during an argument. The husband, who is reported to be a police officer, surrendered after the incident. SHOT HIS WIFE WITH A SERVICE PISTOLThe incident occurred on Ankara Street in the Saraçlar neighborhood. According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between E.T., a police officer working at the Kastamonu Provincial Police Department, and his wife Burçin Sevgi T., with whom he had allegedly been experiencing severe marital discord for some time. The argument escalated into a fight. During the altercation, E.T. fired his service pistol at his wife. Burçin Sevgi T., a mother of one, was struck by the bullet and died at the scene. CALLED 112 AND REPORTED HE KILLED HIS WIFEAfter the incident, police officer E.T. called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported that he had killed his wife. Following this, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The health teams that arrived at the scene confirmed that Burçin Sevgi T. had died. The murder suspect, E.T., surrendered to the police. After investigations conducted by the public prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams, Burçin Sevgi T.'s body was taken to the morgue of Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
