In the survey conducted during these days of early election discussions, citizens were asked the question "Who should be the opposition candidate in the first presidential election?" According to the results of the survey, Mansur Yavaş, the President of ABB, surpassed CHP leader Özel and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu to take the lead.
As discussions of early elections, which are frequently voiced especially in the opposition, continue, polling companies have also started to accelerate their research. Recently, AREA Research Company asked participants in the Political Situation Survey in Turkey, "Who should be the opposition candidate in the first presidential election?"
MANSUR YAVAŞ RANKS FIRST
In response to the open-ended question, 25.3% of the participants answered Mansur Yavaş. Following Yavaş, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu ranked second with 19.6%. CHP leader Özgür Özel ranked third with 7.8% after İmamoğlu. It is noteworthy that the leader of the YRP, Fatih Erbakan, ranked fourth with 2.1%.
SHOULD THERE BE EARLY ELECTIONS?
In the survey conducted with 2,056 participants aged 18 and over between July 4-7, 2024, 53.3% answered "Yes" to the question "Do you think there should be early general elections?". The percentage of those who answered "No" was 41.2%. 5.5% did not express an opinion.
SHOULD THERE BE A MEETING WITH ASSAD?
The percentage of those who stated that the government should meet with Bashar al-Assad, the president of the Syrian regime, for the solution of the Syrian refugee problem, was 85.4%. The percentage of those who stated that they should not meet was 8.5%, while 6.1% did not express an opinion.
