The claim that Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin instructed that "no school will be opened on November 10, lock the doors" has caused an uproar in the public. The Communications Directorate, which denied the claim that was also reported by some media outlets, stated, "In the Ministry of National Education's letter dated November 8, it is emphasized that November 10, the Day of Commemoration of Atatürk, should be commemorated in accordance with the relevant regulations in areas determined by the governorships and open to everyone's participation, in a manner appropriate to the significance and importance of the day."

The claim that the Ministry of National Education banned commemorating Atatürk in schools on November 10 and instructed to 'lock the doors' has drawn significant public reaction.

The Communication Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center, which denied the claim reported by some media outlets, stated, "In the Ministry of National Education's letter dated November 8, it is stated that the essence is to commemorate November 10, Atatürk Memorial Day, in areas determined by the governorships in accordance with the relevant regulation and open to everyone's participation, in a manner appropriate to the meaning and importance of the day."

"THERE IS NO EXPRESSION REGARDING THE BAN ON EVENTS"

In a written statement made from DMM's official X account, the following expressions were included; "The letter does not contain any expression regarding the prohibition of commemorating Atatürk; however, it emphasizes that it is not in accordance with the legislation for political parties to call for ceremonies or organizations in schools outside the areas defined for them."

Additionally, the letter requests the encouragement of tree planting activities with the voluntary participation of students, teachers, and families within the framework of November 11 National Afforestation Day. In this activity, students at all educational levels will prepare message cards reflecting their feelings and thoughts about Atatürk and love for the homeland and place them on the saplings they plant.
