Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı made harsh statements regarding referee management and the MHK, arguing that the TFF President and his administration have been unable to remove the MHK President from his post. Adalı said, "From this point on, there is only one person left to whom we can convey our grievances. I will request an appointment and present these referee matters to our President."
Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı made notable statements regarding recent referee decisions and the management of the Central Referee Committee (MHK).
Speaking after his meeting at the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), Adalı argued that as long as the MHK President remains in office, problems with referees cannot be resolved. Claiming that the TFF management cannot remove the MHK President from his post, Adalı announced that he would request an appointment with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
"I WILL GO TO OUR PRESIDENT"
Saying he will now convey his complaints about referees to President Erdoğan, Adalı stated:
"The TFF president and management cannot remove this man from office! He has some other power. From now on, there is only one person left to whom we can tell our problems. I will request an appointment and present these referee matters to our President."
"THE TFF MANAGEMENT CANNOT REMOVE THIS MAN FROM OFFICE"
Continuing his criticism of the MHK President, Adalı argued that as long as the current management approach remains unchanged, no progress can be made in Turkish football. Adalı said, "As long as this MHK president remains here, unfortunately Turkish football cannot take a step forward, and it also overshadows the good work the TFF has done. For two years, they've been saying 'we renewed the referees, brought in educators.' As long as this person stays there and the mentality doesn't change, nothing will change."
Claiming that the TFF management cannot take action regarding the MHK President, Adalı said, "As of today, what I believe is; neither the TFF President nor the Board of Directors can do anything about this man, the TFF cannot remove this president from office!"
"WE HAVE NOW BECOME A LAUGHINGSTOCK TO THE WORLD"
The Beşiktaş President also reacted to referee assignments, saying he sees no goodwill in some choices. Adalı said, "After what we experienced in the cup match last season, he specifically assigned this referee to our match; I have no doubt; it was not done in good faith. We have now become a laughingstock to the world. Something that has no place in football, like the slap incident, is happening. The MHK President is not knowledgeable about the subject; he just hands over whatever list comes his way. They are truly very ill-intentioned."
"AT LEAST 35 PRESIDENTS CALLED"
Arguing that the problem does not only concern Beşiktaş, Adalı stated that many club presidents from different leagues have contacted him. Adalı said, "At least 35 presidents from the Super League, 1st League, and 2nd League called; there are also major scandals in the lower leagues."
"I HAVE SPENT 250-300 MILLION EUROS"
Arguing that the major investments made by clubs are put at risk due to referee management, Adalı expressed his reaction with these words:
"I have spent 250-300 million Euros, another has spent 300-400 million Euros, another 25-30 million Euros depending on his own budget... The fate of entire communities will be in the hands of an ignorant man having fun there. No offense!"
"I AM TIRED OF SAYING IT AGAIN"
Stating that the main reason for his TFF visit was not to discuss individual referee decisions, Adalı said, "In my conversation, I never touched on whether this goal was valid or this was a penalty. The essence of my visit is the poor management and the fact that the colleague in VAR did not see this slap incident. They say they will do what is necessary; I hope they do."
The Beşiktaş President concluded his remarks by saying, "I am tired of saying it again, again, again, again, and again. Next week, another club president will come, the week after, another club president will come, but that gentleman will remain seated there, enjoying himself in Beylerbeyi."
