In his statement given at the Duty Magistrate Court, suspect Deniz Sinan Demir said, "I am dealing with social media, I am not working. A week ago, a person named Hamza Ç., whom I met on social media, wanted to do a broadcast with me. I produce humorous content. Hamza Ç. told me that he would come to my house as a guest and suggested that we do a broadcast during that time, and I accepted. After the broadcast started, I drank alcohol and continued to drink until the end of the broadcast.
I am a bipolar patient, I should not approach alcohol. I also need to take my medications regularly. We conducted the broadcast at the house of an acquaintance of mine in Kınalıada. I did not understand how the topic of the broadcast turned to religion. All the conversations belong to me. I made such a statement under the influence of alcohol and my illness. I am not someone who normally says such things. I am also a Muslim, I regret it, and I request to be released," it was learned.
