Yalım, who made various allegations regarding the 2023 Congress where Özgür Özel was elected as CHP Chairman, claimed that he provided large amounts of cash for support during this process.
Yalım alleged that he left 200,000 TL at the garden wall of Özel's house and additionally gave 1 million TL in Denizli.
“IF YOU HIRE OUR CHILDREN, WE WILL SUPPORT ÖZEL”
Yalım claimed that some delegates said, “If you hire our children, we will support Özgür Özel in return,” and alleged that CVs were sent to him via WhatsApp.
“FOOTBALLERS' WIVES ALSO RECEIVED SALARIES”
In his statement, Yalım also addressed allegations of irregularities regarding Uşakspor.
Yalım raised the accusation that “10 out of 24 footballers were shown as working in the municipal staff, but they did not actually work,” and also claimed that some footballers' wives received salaries from the municipality.
Stating that he used part of the donated money for personal expenses, Yalım said, “I regret this and want to compensate for the public damage.”
Yalım also admitted that municipal vehicles and personnel were used for private affairs.
Yalım claimed that he had belongings from his houses in Ankara and İzmir transported to Uşak using municipal vehicles, and alleged that official service vehicles were also used for his family's private trips.
VIP VEHICLE CONVERSION ALLEGATION
Yalım claimed that the VIP conversion cost of the vehicle used by Özgür Özel was paid by Uşak Municipality, and alleged that this payment was hidden within the conversion invoice of another municipal vehicle.
Yalım asserted that the payment of approximately 170,000 euros plus VAT was made from the municipal account, and claimed that CHP officials concealed the truth about this matter.
HOW DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL RESPOND TO THE VEHICLE ALLEGATION?
CHP leader Özgür Özel, responding to Yalım's allegations about the vehicle, said, “In the end, we paid both the invoice for the vehicle and the accessories. The process was carried out with the statement, ‘Brother, this place does the best work on the vehicle; let me have it done for you, this is a good place.’”
Özel continued as follows:
“Özkan Yalım has a special discount. When purchasing a car for the party, he facilitated a discount through this, thus protecting the money paid by the party and the state.
There may have been some additions inside the car, but there is nothing that went into my personal pocket. Ultimately, whether the party made this payment with money received from the state under the supervision of the Constitutional Court or in another way.
Nevertheless, in case of a contrary situation, we exchanged correspondence worldwide; we wrote to the company and everywhere. If there is any public damage, it will be compensated again; after all, it is taken from one pocket of the state and put into the other.”
