New details have emerged regarding prosecutor Muhammet Çağatay Kılıçarslan, who shot Istanbul Regional Court judge Aslı Kahraman in her office. Prosecutor Muhammed Çağatay Kılıçarslan (33), who is assigned to the Anadolu Courthouse in Istanbul, visited Judge Aslı Kahraman (45), a member of the 23rd Criminal Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeal (Court of Cassation), around 1:00 PM yesterday. Shortly after, a dispute arose between the two in Judge Kahraman's office for an undetermined reason. During the argument, Prosecutor Muhammed Çağatay Kılıçarslan fired a gun at Judge Aslı Kahraman. When Prosecutor Kılıçarslan attempted to fire again, he was stopped by Yakup K., a tea vendor who is a convict at the Maltepe Open Penitentiary Institution. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured judge was taken to the hospital after the first intervention by the medical teams.
NO LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES

It has been learned that Prosecutor Muhammed Çağatay Kılıçarslan served in the Women's Violence Prevention Bureau of the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office between 2022-2024, where he received complaints from victims regarding issues such as domestic female homicides and abuse, and prepared indictments.
TWO POLICE OFFICERS COULD NOT PREVENT IT, THE TEA VENDOR STOPPED THE MURDER
According to a report in Sözcü, it was learned that Prosecutor Kılıçarslan had previously worked with Judge Aslı Kahraman at the same court in Kartal and had developed an obsessive love for her during that time. Despite all his attempts, after Judge Kahraman rejected him, Prosecutor Kılıçarslan continued his persistent harassment, while Judge Kahraman applied for protection against the prosecutor.
Although two police officers were assigned to protect Judge Kahraman after her application, the tea vendor Yakup Karadağ, who was present in the room during the attack, saved the judge from death.
