The events organized by the CHP-led Altıeylül Municipality for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day continue to draw reactions due to the obscene images displayed.

"IT IS DISRESPECTFUL TO OUR HISTORY AND VALUES"

AK Party Balıkesir Deputy Ali Taylan Öztaylan also reacted in his speech at the General Assembly, stating, "Every action that tarnishes this honor is a disrespect to our history and values."

Öztaylan expressed the following:

"Unfortunately, our April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day has turned into a disappointment due to the scandalous celebrations held by the CHP-led Balıkesir Altıeylül Municipality. A woman dressed in obscene clothing performing a so-called dance around a pole has nothing to do with sovereignty or children. It is extremely wrong to turn a national day like April 23, which is backed by great struggles, into a personal fantasy tool. Such so-called celebrations do not befit our glorious history. Our national holidays are the honor of our nation. Every action that tarnishes this honor is a disrespect to our history and values."

DURMAZ: A BLOW TO OUR NATIONAL IDENTITY

Another reaction came from MHP Deputy Chairman Sadir Durmaz.

Durmaz said, "I advise them to set aside their hopes of dividing the nation, their hopes for chaos and disorder, and their threats of 'I will declare war' and focus on the scandals occurring in their municipalities."

REACTION FROM CIVIL SOCIETY PLATFORM MEMBERS

Members of civil society platforms in Balıkesir also expressed their reactions. Mustafa Yıldırım, a representative of the Balıkesir Family Platform, stated, "This organization is not just a dance show; it is an attitude that crosses moral boundaries, erasing the line of decency and tearing the veil of modesty in public spaces," and added: "Instead of brushing aside societal reactions, they should come forward and apologize to the public. The issue cannot be covered up by removing innocent people from their positions instead of holding the real culprits accountable for this disgrace." He emphasized that "the greatest legacy we can leave to future generations is morality, a sense of decency, and modesty."
