Revşan Demir, who stabbed and killed his 5-year-old son Mert Veysel Karakoç in Mersin, has been arrested. It has been reported that Demir has psychological issues, and it was revealed that he took his son to the bathroom, claiming, "The house is haunted by spirits," before cutting his throat and then stabbing him eight times.
In the Mevlana neighborhood of the Toroslar district, a chilling incident occurred the day before yesterday around 21:30. Revşan Demir injured her 5-year-old son Mert Veysel Karakoç by cutting his throat and wounding him in various places.
CHILD COULD NOT BE SAVED, MOTHER IN CUSTODY
Karakoç, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved. The lifeless body of the child was taken to the morgue for autopsy. Mother Demir was taken into custody. Karakoç, who was picked up from the morgue by relatives, was buried in the Güneykent Cemetery in the Toroslar district.

It was determined that Revşan Demir, who was reported to have psychological issues, shouted at home before the incident, saying, "The house is surrounded by jinn, what will happen to my child if I go?" and took Veysel to the bathroom, where she first cut his throat and then stabbed him 8 times, killing him. After her procedures at the police station, mother Demir was referred to the courthouse, where she was arrested by the duty magistrate.
