However, audio recordings released regarding the moment of the incident revealed that Kadayıfçıoğlu opened fire within 4 seconds of approaching the vehicle and that there was no struggle.
The football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who was killed in a shooting in Ümraniye, had 7 suspects arrested, including Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, and İzzet Yıldızhan, in connection with the murder.

The suspect Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu defended himself in his statement at the police station, saying, "The gun suddenly went off during the struggle, I definitely did not fire the gun. I was in shock when the gun went off. I didn't even realize if my gun went off or if another gun went off. In the shock of the incident, I wanted to leave there as soon as possible. Because I thought I couldn't drive my own vehicle due to the shock I was in, I switched to another vehicle instead of the one I came in."

However, the audio recordings published by Emrullah Erdinç contradicted Kadayıfçıoğlu's statement of "we struggled." The recordings revealed that Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu opened fire within 4 seconds of approaching the vehicle and that no struggle occurred.
