Kızılay decided to purchase Doğanay Şalgam's owners Remzi and Rafet Doğan's factory in Adana and their company on September 7, 2023, and a purchase agreement was signed between the Doğanay brothers and Kızılay. According to a report by İsmail Arı from BirGün; the factory purchased by Kızılay for 10 million Euros had been idle for a long time. It was claimed that the Doğanay brothers had been experiencing economic difficulties for a long time.

"I HAVE QUIT THE ŞALGAM BUSINESS"

Remzi Doğanay stated in an interview with the newspaper, "I have quit the şalgam business. We are two brothers. My brother Rafet fell seriously ill. When he got sick, I was left alone. It was difficult to manage the business alone. Kızılay also wanted to buy the factory. I am now busy with my own work. The factory was operational; when you entered the factory, it felt like you had entered space," he said.

KIZILAY ISSUED A STATEMENT

In a statement made by Kızılay, it was confirmed that the factory was purchased for 10 million Euros, and the following statements were included: "We have contributed to the economy by purchasing the factory located in Adana, which has been idle for many years and has not operated for 7 years. ... The Doğanay brand had closed this factory 7 years ago. We have taken this important facility through necessary maintenance and repairs and have resumed production with an investment of 10 million Euros. Very soon, we will introduce healthy şalgam, lemonade, and iced tea products to our consumers, and in the upcoming period, we will also cater to consumers in new categories such as sports drinks, smoothies, fruit milk, and enteral nutrition products."
