DEFAMATION INVESTIGATION SEPARATED

It has been learned that the investigation regarding Kabaş for the crime of "insulting the President" has been separated.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Suspect Sedef Kabaş was detained on January 26 by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to her posts on the US-based X company's social media platform for the crimes of "insulting the President" and "inciting to commit a crime."

After her procedures at the police station, Kabaş was brought to the courthouse, where she stated in her testimony at the prosecutor's office that her posts did not contain insults, incitement to crime, or any criminal elements, arguing that all her posts were within the scope of freedom of expression, and she did not accept the charges.

After her procedures at the prosecutor's office, Kabaş was brought before the duty magistrate, and it was decided to release her under judicial control measures, including a travel ban and signing in twice a week.
