Naime Gölbaşı, a 55-year-old woman who suffered a heart attack in the Baykan district of Siirt, was caught in a flood disaster caused by heavy rainfall while being rushed to the hospital. Gölbaşı, who was trapped in the minibus due to the flooding that blocked the road, lost her life despite the intervention of the teams.
In the incident that occurred in the village of Meşelik, located in the Baykan district of Siirt, 55-year-old Naime Gölbaşı, who suffered a heart attack, was caught in a flood barrier while being rushed to the hospital.
DISASTER ON THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL
Gölbaşı, who fell ill in the morning hours, was set out to be taken to the hospital by the village minibus by her relatives. However, due to the heavy rainfall, the river level rose rapidly. The overflowing water blocked the village road, and the minibus became stranded on the road.
THE RIVER OVERFLOWED, THE VEHICLE GOT STRANDED
The river, overflowing due to the intense rainfall, completely halted transportation. The minibus, which had a patient inside, was stuck in the rising water and could not move forward.
TEAMS WERE MOBILIZED
Upon notification, AFAD, UMKE, health, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. As a result of the efforts carried out with construction machinery belonging to the municipality, the minibus was removed from the water and taken to a safe area.
UNABLE TO BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
Health teams intervened for a long time inside the vehicle. However, Naime Gölbaşı passed away despite all the interventions made. Gölbaşı's body was taken to the morgue of Siirt Training and Research Hospital for autopsy.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, and the road closed due to the flood and the intervention process are also being examined.
