In Antalya, when a robot vacuum cleaner plugged into charge caught fire, the owner of the workshop immediately took it outside. The mechanic, who was examining the vacuum cleaner outside, was taken aback by the sudden explosion.
The robot vacuum cleaner left for repair in the Finike district of Antalya suddenly caught fire while charging after being repaired. The vacuum cleaner, noticed by the electronics technician, was taken outside and suddenly exploded like a bomb.
The incident took place at a business on Cumhuriyet Street in Turunçova neighborhood, which is connected to the Finike district. Electronics technician Orhan Çakıroğlu, who repaired the rechargeable robot vacuum cleaner left by a customer, plugged the device in for testing. When the robot vacuum cleaner was fully charged, it suddenly caught fire and was immediately taken outside by the owner of the business. The technician, who examined the vacuum cleaner outside, was shocked by the sudden explosion. While the vacuum cleaner continued to burn, it became unusable, and the moments were captured on security cameras.
"WE REMOVED THE BATTERIES, BUT IT CONTINUED TO EXPLODE"
Orhan Çakıroğlu, who described the incident, said, "After repairing our rechargeable robot vacuum cleaner from our customer, we experienced a negative incident. After testing the vacuum cleaner, we plugged it in for charging. After about half an hour, when the battery was fully charged, the machine suddenly caught fire and started to burn. We immediately intervened and threw it outside. We removed the batteries inside, but it didn't help, it continued to explode," he said.
Çakıroğlu, who warned not to leave rechargeable products plugged in at home and leave, said, "Even though we are experts in this field, we cannot know when and how electronic products will have a malfunction. God protected us, it could have caused a fire in our business. It would have been worse if it was at night, we got off cheap," he said.
