The incident occurred in the rural Sarılar neighborhood of the Tire district. According to allegations, Hatice D. (34) buried her baby, whom she gave birth to out of wedlock, in a sack under a bridge. After Hatice D.'s mother reported the incident to the gendarmerie, a total of five family members, including Hatice D., her father N.D., her mother F.D., and her brothers İ.D. and R.D., were taken into custody upon the instruction of the public prosecutor's office. In the initial searches conducted in the area, a cord belonging to the baby was found at the location where it was claimed to be buried, but the baby's body has not yet been located. Gendarmerie and police teams are continuing their search efforts around the bridge with specially trained dogs.

It has emerged that Hatice D. also gave birth in 2019 at the Tire Friday Market, where she left the baby under the stall after giving birth in her trousers.
