Georgia state senator Colton Moore was arrested while attempting to enter the state capitol despite being banned from the premises. Moore, who was prohibited from entering due to his harsh words about the late Senator David Ralston, stated that he was trying to enter because he represents 200,000 constituents.

Georgia state senator Colton Moore was arrested while trying to enter the legislative building despite a ban imposed on him. The scuffle that occurred during the incident was captured by security cameras.

Moore, who wanted to attend Governor Brian Kemp's annual speech, argued with security personnel at the entrance. Banned from entering the legislature due to his harsh words about the late Senator David Ralston, Moore attempted to enter, stating that he "represents 200,000 constituents."

Ignoring the warnings from security personnel, Moore fell to the ground after the scuffle. He was handcuffed and arrested with the intervention of at least six police officers.

House Speaker Jon Burns stated in a press release, "Moore's ban from the legislature will continue until he apologizes to Senator Ralston's family and friends."

A written statement from Moore's team said, "Our senator was unjustly arrested. We are taking legal action to ensure that Moore, who is being held in a jail in Atlanta, is released as soon as possible."

Before the incident, Moore told a press organization, "I will attend the meeting, which is my constitutional right. If they want to arrest me, that is their problem."

The state police reported that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
