Due to the heavy snowfall in Uşak, the Uşak-Ankara highway was closed to traffic for approximately 3 hours at the Dumlupınar Ramps. While the snow depth reached 15 centimeters on the ramps, a traffic jam of kilometers was formed due to trucks and vehicles stranded on the road.
With the drop in air temperatures, snowfall especially increased in the higher areas of Uşak. After the heavy snowfall, transportation came to a standstill due to some trucks and vehicles being stranded on the Dumlupınar Ramps.
TRANSPORTATION WAS PARALYZED
While the teams of the 25th Branch Directorate of Highways were conducting snow plowing and salting work on the main arteries, the teams of the Provincial Special Administration continued their work in the high areas and rural regions. The teams of the Regional Traffic Inspection Branch of the Uşak Provincial Police Department also took safety measures against accidents.
LONG QUEUES FORMED
After approximately 3 hours of work, the road was reopened to traffic, and the vehicles stranded on the Dumlupınar Ramps and the kilometers-long traffic jam were captured by drone from the air.
